SPARK: A SYSTEMIC RACISM STORY

SPARK: A SYSTEMIC RACISM STORY
By Julie Manriquez

GENRE: Documentary
LOGLINE:

By exploring systemic racism’s roots and remedies, SPARK hopes to inspire people to move from simply not being a racist, which does little to dismantle racism, to actively living an anti-racist life and becoming an ally to the Black community.

SYNOPSIS:

This short film is complete! It is FREE and available on YouTube. The investor/activist, who splits his time between Minneapolis and La Jolla, CA assembled a small group of creatives to produce this film in his home studio (as we quarantined) shortly after the murder of George Floyd. The project began after all of us had attended marches in San Diego and Los Angeles Counties. We came together to produce this short documentary, which examines racisms's roots and remedies. The film released widely in December and has already been reviewed in several publications, and endorsed by Maria Shriver, Bill Walton, and our awesome narrator, Bruce Greenwood.

Many Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) leaders in companies, organizations, and academic institutions have endorsed and implemented Spark in their DEI training. Some of those entities are: Stanford University's Graduate School of Business, Microsoft, WD-40, National Conflict Resolution Center, School districts in New Jersey, Minneapolis and San Diego.
