Bernard, an American businessman in Brazil had to shoot one of his kids in order to save the rest of the family. Now he’ll go back for revenge and redemption.

SYNOPSIS:

BERNARD wakes up screaming from a nightmare where he kills his daughter

JENNY. His wife, LUCY wakes up scared too and they have a huge argument about the

reason this dreams are happening, but Bernard doesn’t want to talk about it. He leaves

the room, check on his daughter and son, GUS, and goes sleep on the couch.

On the morning after the Bernard, Lucy and Gus have breakfast. Jenny just gabs

something to eat and don’t bother sitting with them. Another big argument and she

leaves to meet SUSY and JACK, some friends Bernard doesn’t approve.

At the office Bernard tells PETER, his assistant manager, that they’re dropping

the Brazilian BID. Peter doesn’t agree or understand the decision, but accept it without

further questions and leaves. I the mean time, at Jack’s house, Jenny, Susy and jack

listen to loud music, smoke pot and sniff coke. Back in the office, Peter catches Bernard

bending over the window of his office and runs to pull him back in. Bernard responds to

that with anger and Peter explains he thought for a moment that Bernard was going to

jump out of the window.

On that night Bernard and Lucy have dinner, silent, Gus arrives but desn’e sit

with them. They wonder where could Jenny be. Later Bernard sleeps alone on the

couch again and wakes up in the dark with some strange noises inside the house. He

grabs his gun at his office and goes investigate until he finds a shadow sneaking up the

stairs. He points the gun and turns on the light just to realize it was just Jenny

zigzagging and wobbling up the stairs. She is so stoned she can barely speak. They

have a huge argument and she asks him why don’t he shoot her, again. Lucy and Gus

wake up with the noise and intervene. Jenny locks herself in her bedroom.

In their bedroom Lucy acuses Bernard of being too hard with his own daughter,

but not with the people he should be. Later Bernard wakes up screaming from the

nightmare where he shoots Jenny, again.

Bernard has breakfast alone at the kitchen, Gus comes in, apprehensive.

Bernard asks about Jenny and goes knock on her room. No answer. He gets angry and

breaks in, she is not there and the window’s open. Lucy and Gus come in and another

huge argument goes on. She ends up calling him a coward.

Bernard sits worried in his office when Peter comes in and asks about it. Bernard

says nothing and changes the subject to work issues. The phone rings but Bernard

doesn’t pic it up. A few moments later CHLOE, the secretary, walks in telling that Lucy is

on the phone desperate with some urgent matter. Bernard answers the phone and Lucy

tells him Jenny has overdosed and is being taken to the hospital.

Bernard and Peter storm in the hospital and go to the room Jenny is in,

unconscious. The DOCTOR explains she has almost died. Lucy and Bernard have a

huge fight regarding the fact she knew Jenny was doing drugs and Bernard didn’t.

Jenny blames him again for not taking care of this family. The doctor suggest everyone

leave the room.

In the next morning Bernard watches Lucy. She wakes up groggy and when she

identifies Bernard holding her hand she freaks out and start screaming and debating

herself. Bernard tries to contain her, Lucy and Gus come in to put them apart and the

Doctor expels everyone out. Lucy is sedated.

On the corridor Lucy jumps over Bernard screaming and blaming him for being a

coward and responsible for all that situation in front of Peter. Lucy ends up mentioning

the “Brazilian Operation” as part of the problem and that calls Peter’s attention.

Bernard tells everything about how things went wrong in Brazil when he tried to

outplay the Brazilian mafia and refused to pay them a huge bribe in a BID. He tells that

the mafia reacted, kidnapped Jenny and Gus and made him chose between one of the

two in order to save the rest of the family. Afraid the bandits would torture and rape

Jenny, he chose to shoot her. It happens that there was a blank in the gun. The mafia

just wanted him to make a choice and let the family live with it. Peter can hardly believe

the situation and suggest telling the police. Bernard prohibits him because he s afraid

the mafia is “watching” him.

Bernard decides to go back to Brazil to kill the Brazilian godfather and asks

Peter’s help. Again, Peter does not agree with it but decides to help and goes after a

guy that he knows and has connections.

Peter introduces Bernard to a suspicious guy called EDGAR in a pub. A former

security manger specialized in Politicians and big business men, he asks for a hefty

amount of money, U$3 million, to help Bernard. Bernard finds the offer outrageous, but

he has no other option and accept it.

At home, Bernard packs a bag. Lucy finds him finishing and gets mad at him

again for abandoning the family when they need him the most. She doesn’t know

anything about his plans. The Bernard is about to leave, Gus intercept him, tells him he

knows what he is up to and volunteers to go wit him. Bernard prohibits it and tell him to

take care of Lucy and Jenny while he is away.

Bernard and Peter fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to a fake business meeting and

there they meet JAVIER, from the Meridional Engineering Consortium. Bernard and

Peter were not expecting anyone to be there at the airport waiting for them and become

suspicious of him. Javier takes them to the hotel, not before asking a lot of questions

and pushing maybe too hard to look friendly.

On the next day Bernard and Peter wait for Javier to pick them up to take them to

the meeting at the engineering consortium. Before Javier arrives Bernard spots a

suspicious man at the hotel lobby. Bernard walks out the hotel and find a suspicious

figure in every corner, as if everyone there knew about his intentions. Javier arrives and

they leave with him.

The meeting goes well and the executives at the consortium get impressed with

Bernard and Peters presentation. Bernard tells them he needs 2 to 3 weeks to prepare

a preliminary proposal and will be around meeting some suppliers. On the way back to

the hotel Peter offers them a tour around the city which they refuse. He drops them at

the hotel.

Later at night Bernard and Peter walk out the hotel and merge into the crowd in

the streets. They think they’re being followed and try to escape through a desert alley

where they hide. The suspicious man from the hotel comes after them and eventually

finds them and introduces himself as Alejandro, Edgar’s partner. They sit at a pub to

discuss the details of the operation. Bernard is offered his last chance to give up and

refuses. Alejandro tells them all the details are being arranged and leaves.

On the morning after Bernard and Peter come back from the breakfast at the

hotel and find Javier siting inside their room. They get surprised and uncomfortable wit

the situation, but Javier ends up convincing them to go out for a ride around town. They

end up in a dark exotic bar called “Samovar de Rasputin”. There they have lots of

drinks, watch some sensual dancers, drink more, get sort of stoned and are dragged to

a secret red velvet room in the back of the bar. The sensual dancers strip for them and

join them in a voluptuous psychedelic trance until Bernard and Peter black out.

Bernard sleeps at the hotel, still dressed and wakes up with an unidentified

shadow covering his mouth. It’s Alejandro telling him he and Peter have been drugged

and someone is watching them. Alejandro tells them to discretely pack and sneak out

the hotel with him.

Alejandro drives fast through the streets of Buenos Aires at night towards the

north exit of the town. Alejandro drives all night long in the direction of the Brazilian

border.

The sun rises, Bernard and Peter wake up in the car, parked at an old small gas

station close to the border. They have an argument because Bernard and Peter haven’t

heard a plan or seen any guns or equipment to perform the task yet. Alejandro, furious,

opens the trunk of the car and shows them an arsenal. There’s also a bag in the car

which he does not open for them. Alejandro closes the trunk and goes grab some

coffee. In the mean time Bernard spots something dripping from underneath the car,

looks like blood. He and Peter open the trunk to check the bag and find something

horrible: human body parts and a head, it’s Javier. Bernard and Peter walk back scared.

At this moment Alejandro comes back with the coffee and realizes what is going on.

They stay there as if in a duel. The three men run to the trunk after the guns, Bernard is

the first to get there, grabs a pistol and aims at Alejandro. Peter convinces him to give

him the gun and controls the situation, but then Bernard jumps over Alejandro and they

fight each other. Peter doesn’t have a clear shot. Alejandro manages to get another gun

and releases himself from Bernard. The three men finally settle down and proceed with

the trip after Alejandro explanations.

They manage to cross the border after a lot of conversation with the border

officers and a beefy bribe. After the border they take a desert road to the Iguana river to

get rid of the body. Alejandro has Bernard helping him burn the body and Bernard gets

sick with it, making him wonder if he is prepared to proceed with the plan.

In the US, Jenny gets home from the hospital and realizes the father is not there.

Jenny gets mad at Bernard, but this time Gus defends him and ends up telling her about

Bernard’s plans.

In Brazil, the sun rises with the trio arriving in Curitiba, the city where the

godfather is. Alejandro take them to a suburban dirty old house where they’ll set base

in. He drops Bernard and Peter there and leaves after telling them to wait and not leave

the house. He’ll be out doing arrangements and will be back when the timing for the

action is convenient.

In the US Gus discovers that Jenny is missing. she went to Brazil to prevent her

dad from completing the plan. When he tells Lucy about it she has a break down.

After two days with no sign of Alejandro, Bernard and Peter decide to go out to

try to discover something useful for the plan. They take a bus to downtown to explore it.

When they get there Bernard recognizes some places from the time he was in Curitiba

for the first time. They find the building where most of the meetings relative to the bid

they were involved in and sit at a cafe besides it to observe the movement. Bernard

hears a familiar voice coming from the street and runs to check but misses the grey

haired man by a second, someone he never met, but heard on the phone, the

godfather.

Back to the house Bernard tells Alejandro they found the godfather and Alejandro

gets furious for them risking the whole operation. They discover the mysterious

godfather is actually a state minister. Bernard calls home to check on Gus, Jenny and

Lucy and discovers that Jenny is flying to Brazil. They go to the airport to intercept her

before the mafia but she vanishes outside the airport after an intense car chase. In the

US Edgar helps Gus and Jenny to hide in a safe place.

Jenny meets her Brazilian friends, members of the rebel group called Black Blocs

and they too create a plan to kill the godfather, before Bernard does it. In the mean time

Alejandro, Bernard and Peter hurry up with their plan knowing Jenny is going to try to

act before them. A massive protest against the Brazilian government is set to take place

downtown on the next day, right in front of the godfather’s building. Alejandro realizes

that is the best opportunity to take the godfather down and they have to get there before

Jenny.

The protesters advance through the streets, Jenny and the Black Blocs go

together, merged with the crowd. Alejandro, Bernard and Peter try to open their way but

get stuck in a traffic jam caused by the protesters blocking the streets. The godfathered

tries to walk to his car, protected by his bodyguards, but the crowd spots him and block

his way. Jenny’s friends reach the car and set it on fire with a couple molotovs, the

situation gets tense. Jenny comes right after thought the crowd with a knife in her hand.

the situation gets out of control and the crowd jump over the armed bodyguards. In the

middle of the confusion the godfather recognizes Jenny, pulls a gun and shoot her, but

Bernards jump in front of her and receives the shot. A second shot, this time Peter

shoots the godfather and Jenny takes the opportunity to go to him and slice his throat.

The crowd takes over and finish beating the bodyguards and break everything around,

stores, light poles, cars, etc.

Peter helps Jenny put a bleeding Bernard in the escape car where Alejandro is

waiting and they run, escorted by some Black Blocs that open the way through the

crowd on the streets.

Back in the US Gus and Lucy wait at the airport. Peter crosses the arrivals gate,
