Set against the 'backdrop' of California's or Canada's wildfires, animals of all types, many engulfed in flames, instinctively run towards a brightly lit - glowing -heretofore  undiscovered mansion, nestled in a valley. Most humans are 'rejected' by an odd 'force'. 

SYNOPSIS:

Set against the 'backdrop' of California's or Canada's wildfires, animals of all types, many engulfed in flames, instinctively run towards a brightly lit - glowing -heretofore undiscovered mansion, nestled in a valley. Most humans, panicking, are 'rejected' by an odd 'force'. A couple of firefighters witness this and wonder: "What the hell?" Many of the 'fighters have lived in the area for decades, but had never noticed this 'glowing' mansion before. They are flummoxed. Soon it is learned, that there's an 'intelligence' and (human-targeted) malevolence - in the form of an ethereally handsome humanoid - residing in this 'eerie sanctuary' . It's soon discovered that very few humans can actually 'pass through' a barrier to this place. All animals, of course, many escaping the fire and general human treachery (e.g. wolves, bears) are able to enter. When the firefighters start increasing their focus on this 'big glowing house', they look up and see an incredibly large triangle-shaped craft above the mansion. Then they become dizzy. For...you see...This deceptively menacing place...can detect *intent* and a type of 'dome' forms around this seemingly 'non-terrestrial' mansion. Due to reports from firefighters to local law enforcement, police attempt to investigate, but they only get so far, as their collective *intent* is 'sensed' and they're instantly 'transported' back to their police station(s), memories wiped. Hunters, 'trackers' experience the same. Over days, their memories come back, but - like something out of the movie "The 4th Kind" - they scream uncontrollably, winding up in fetal positions, covers over their heads. Only compassionate, emotionally intelligent humans (esp. rookie officers, few young people,a Veterinarian, a pastor) can pass through. Meanwhile, the 'humanoid' inhabiting that 'glowing mansion', impossibly handsome, 'tours' around the town and countryside in an obviously modified, Merkur XR4Ti, observing people, with a hypnotic presence. Males and females alike are instantly attracted to the humanoid. In one scene, having wound up at a local, popular night club, with a 'hip', diverse crowd, this humanoid, standing over 6'-4" tall, dressed in black and bearing a resemblance to a very young Julian Sands, starts dancing by himself to a hard-pounding remix of Soft Cell's "Tainted Love". Soon males, then females start dancing - trance-like - around this ethereally attractive stranger. Little do these 'towns people' that this stranger is actually 'screening' them for their levels of compassion, 'heart', true intelligence. Yes, over time, those 'screened' people - who unwittingly 'passed the test' - slowly wind up at that glowing mansion. Of course, those 'crew cut', blockheaded police, known 'mean' bigoted townspeople, council members, mayor (etc.), soon learn that people - even some of their spouses - have 'disappeared'.
