About Travis

Writer. Editor. Story Producer.

I have a decade of experience as a story producer and editor in documentary and non-scripted television. My sense for fact-based storytelling gives me an edge in writing compelling yet grounded dramas based on heavy research, true stories, or IP adaptation. Having grown up poor in rural Maryland, my writing is decidedly working-class, about underdogs overcoming obstacles in life, touching on subjects of forged families, empowerment, and past trauma.

My writing has been recognized by top industry fellowships such as the Cannes Film Festival Screenwriting Residency (CannesFilms Unlimited) and WGA East Nonfiction Showrunners Training Program, as well as Finalist placements in the Black List Feature Lab, Sundance Episodic Lab, MGM + Black List Feature Partnership, and the Academy Nicholl Fellowship.

I have also received Finalist placements from competitions including the Script Pipeline First Look Project, PAGE International Screenwriting Awards, Nantucket Film Festival Showtime Tony Cox Screenwriting Competition, ScreenCraft Public Domain Screenwriting Competition, The Orchard Project, CineStory TV Fellowship, LaunchPad Pilots, ScreenCraft Pilot Launch, and ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship.

My short films have played in festivals worldwide, including Berlin, Germany; Cork, Ireland; and the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City.

Unique traits: Identical twin, background in journalism, WGAE Showrunners Training, Cannes Screenwriting Resident, trauma survivor
