Paul Guidry

I was a writer before I knew I wanted to write.

From my now defunct grade school to high school and through college, I always had English teachers and creative writing professors pulling me aside, asking what I wanted to do with my life. It took me another twenty years to figure out the answer.
So, after stints in TV production and a successful career as an advertising creative, I realized that I love writing. Script writing, to put a finer point on it. And professionally, the only thing I love more than writing is working through the collaborative production process and being on set to watch what had only been words on a page become a living, breathing thing.

To date, I've written well over one hundred short and long-form broadcast and online content pieces, produced nearly as many episodes of cable and network TV shows, and have had the privilege to write and direct a campaign video as part of the Women for the Win initiative to see more women, especially women of color, represented in government. Happy to say our candidate won.

The cherry on top after all this, is that with my late in the game realization that screenwriting is my true calling, and about a dozen features and a TV pilot collecting digital dust in their respective desktop folders, I'm happy to say that I've signed my first option agreement for a feature-length thriller. Hoping to go into production in 2019, and have the chance to update this bio soon, with an even better ending.
