One effective way to introduce your antagonist is to have them do something extraordinary, instead of standing around in say some long dialogue scene. But instead, something physical, something visceral, and something that will both captivate and intimidate the protagonist, and will make it so that both the protagonist and the audience will want to know more... Driving home during an increasing snowstorm ...on the freeway. Thick and wet, accumulating snow blasting the windshield. Wipers getting a workout ...about to pass in between two snow plows... My Dad thought I was asleep in the backseat, along with my sister, but no... we were awake, we were scared, especially when about to pass in between the plows... CHRISTMAS 1994!
Such a truthful moment ...captures the holiday so perfectly ...but I look outside on this day and it doesn't feel like Christmas. Just outside my office window, there is GREEN... there is SUNSHINE... but there is no snow... Merry X-Mas to all!
