Martina Rehm

Martina Rehm was born in Germany where she developed a passion for books and traveling to escape the small-town life she grew up in. Spending some time in France, she learned to enjoy the simple things in life and found an appreciation for making an everyday dinner a social event for friends and family. Both help her deal with the daily struggles of living with Fibromyalgia.

A marriage and a kid later and she immigrated to the US, where she started a new career, working with Expats and Global Executives around the world. When her son went to film school to become a director, she told him he should make films with complex female leads her age. He challenged her to write those stories. And because he felt that all teenagers need to see role models in film and TV, he asked her to include happy and successful LGTBQIA+ characters without making their sexual orientation a plot point or conflict.

Martina completed UCLA’s Professional Program in Screenwriting and has been writing ever since. Her Romantic Comedy SPICE IT UP placed in Final Draft’s Big Break, Scriptapalooza, and Inroads Fellowship. Martina incorporates her love for Romantic Comedies, foreign countries, and food from around the world in her stories, featuring complex female leads and an all-inclusive diverse cast.
