Alex Hill was born in Seattle Washington, and shortly thereafter, decided he wanted to be a Special Effects man.
At the age of 9 he started experimenting with optical and mechanical effects for a school movie. Fueled by the admiration of school peers Alex's curiosity for the illusions used in theater and live shows grew. At the age of 15, Alex set foot on set for the first time during the production of Ten Things I Hate About You. At 16, Alex's love for entertainment led him to open a small all ages nightclub called The Spot. Open only on weekends, the club was regularly filled to capacity, and showcased such names as Donald Glaude and DJ Jimmy Hoffa. At 18 he was offered a special effects job in Los Angeles and has never looked back.
after 5 years of experience, Alex began coordinating and shortly there after, opened Going Hot! Special Effects. Today, he is living his dream of being a respected Special Effects Man. Alex has trained under the likes oscar award winning Richard Huggins and the world renown 'Reel FX'.
Alex has worked on over 400 commercials, 80 music videos, 15 feature films, several live music tours and 3 seasons in the Staples center for the Los Angeles Lakers pre-game show.
in 2009, Alex and Cord Newman decided to take a new look at the way action was filmed. They created 2nd Unit Solutions, bringing together the stunt and special effects departments, as well as 2nd unit directors to one group that works flawlessly together.

* USPA Skydiver
* Qualified with most firearms
* Qualified Rigger Stunts and effects
* Qualified with high power laser systems
