GENRE: Romance, Drama
LOGLINE:

A young man with Social Disorder cannot distinguish between facts and delusions, feels everyone can feel his feelings and tries to educate people with the hurt he feels.

SYNOPSIS:

Ps: Andrew's family name was inspired by the clan of one of the greatest directors in history, Orson Welles.

The idea was further strengthened by a touching question from a fellow social phobia sufferer and eventually became the basis for the story, "How can you be happy?" Unforgettable Hurts is the most basic question from humans, a continuation of the quote above, namely "In a process of happiness will you take it from other people?" and "If your happiness is someone else's, then to make your loved ones happy is the process painless for others even for yourself?" Yes, these two questions are a continuation and an answer to the question from the previous quote. Yes, an answer as well as a question. Anyone confused? let me explain from the synopsis of my essay below.

Set in Uttah early 60s, told that Andrew Welles is a larger introvert personality who is very narcissistic and only cares for himself. He lives alone in an apartment, including in a rich family, he often pays rent faster than anyone, it makes him proud and tends to underestimate other apartment residents, especially to those who pay the most late, hearing a little someone is late paying rent, so Andrew did not hesitate to drop the person's self-respect in public places, this was done by Andrew because he wanted to educate and at the same time take revenge for the attitude of his friends in high school who bullied him. In short he assumed that everyone should feel what he felt first, namely inner pain. Andrew thought that with everyone feeling suffering, the suffering would disappear because humans would understand each other. Yes, that excess empathy forced on others is Andrew's nature. The way Andrew bullies people who are late paying apartment rent is just one of the other ways, it makes Andrew hated, not only in his apartment environment but also his friends and co-workers in the place where Andrew works as a bassist. at a nightclub. Indeed, there is no relationship between educating the feelings of apartment members and even the whole world that is not related to his former high school friends, so I will explain it at the end.

The apartment owner takes advantage of Andrew's character, knowing that Andrew is rich, he often increases various costs such as food costs, security and so on, even though the fact is that all of them are included in the apartment rental price. Because of his underestimation, Andrew did not even read the clause of the apartment rental agreement and just signed it, even though the letter was with Andrew all night. At first the apartment owner did not know but after a misunderstanding heard from Andrew about the new security that arrived 20 days after Andrew occupied the apartment, the owner knew Andrew's weaknesses and took advantage of it. But is the apartment owner that bad? Wait a minute, he did it because he needed the money to pay for the schooling of the two grandchildren of his eldest son. He did it for the happiness of his grandchildren, the happiness of his grandchildren was his happiness too.

Coincidentally the youngest daughter, Jonathan, owner of the apartment, is the boyfriend of Andrew's brother. Lucia, Jonathan's daughter, has been dating Peter for more than 3 years. It wasn't because of a coincidence that Lucia was dating Peter, Lucia was ordered by her father (the owner of the apartment) to approach the famous and wealthy Welles family. For Johathan, this is the only long-term way that can be done for survival, while for the short-term way, namely the school fees for his two grandchildren, he uses Andrew. Peter actually knew he and his younger siblings were being used by Lucia and his father. Welles' family background as the ruler of the Uttah area or the term the regional mafia made it easy for Peter to read Johathan's plans. Actually, as Capo Peter could have ordered his men to shoot Jonathan dead, but Peter was banned by Roger Welles, his father who was also the boss of the Uttah area. The reason is that by dating Lucia, the Welles family could return to watching Andrew freely. Johathan also knows that the Welles family is a gangster family, but for the sake of his family he is ready to die even though he already has several names that are ready to be slandered at once sacrificed including a loyal former security guard who always accompanies him to drink coffee every morning, all for the sake of family happiness, especially his grandchildren. The point is to use each other, Jonathan uses it for the sake of living expenses, while Roger uses it to watch over his son. Everything is together for happiness, Jonathan for the happiness of his family, especially his grandchildren, and Roger for happiness and Andrew's future.

Having already entered into the Welles family mafioso network, it is inevitable that Lucia must obey all the existing rules, including even if she wants to do something disgusting and immoral. It often happens that Lucia has to replace the roles of women who work as porn actresses who are unable to attend and perform indecent scenes and have to be watched by the cameraman and some crew. Yes, the Welles family are masters of pornography. The recording of the immoral act was then sent to embroidery houses in the form of a blue film, which was illegal there at that time, to stimulate the lust of the love peddlers. Jonathan knows this but he thinks it's the only way to happiness, he doesn't care even though Lucia is miserable, Jonathan thinks the youngest daughter's misery is incomparable to the happiness that her daughter will have, which her whole family will be able to someday, although sometimes Jonathan is Having to see her son getting fucked and her scenes immortalized in a film, she knew it would be tough to be part of the Welles family.

Back to Andrew, who is the core of the film, Andrew, who tends to be more introverted, rarely leaves the apartment because it turns out that he has social phobia. Because he is too often forced to meet people at the club, his anxiety arises, Andrew often feels what he calls seizures, he often experiences it, always experiences it alone in the apartment or club bathroom. The seizures left his nerves with fatal damage, especially since Andrew is actually a schizoaffective. This explains the second paragraph, where it turns out that he considers the residents of the apartment to be his old friends in high school, it is a severe understanding for a person with mental disorders that can be categorized as a separate mental disorder but in one unit. The point is Andrew is suffering from Delirium or complications of mental disorders. Although usually it affects the elderly, there is a possibility that the disease will be suffered by young people, even if only a few percent.

Combined with his severe discourse that is classified as a schizoaffective splinter, as well as a bassist and songwriter at the club, Andrew never sleeps, he often does not sleep to create songs, the songs he writes are always written full of feelings, feeling the heart hurts excessively due to his thoughts. Andrew felt that people could feel what Andrew felt, a very painful feeling. It turned out that one of the reasons for this painful feeling was because he had known that Peter was dating Lucia for a long time, while Andrew loved Lucia very much. Readers already understand the cycle, right? Yes, Peter is dating Lucia for the happiness and future of his younger brother at the behest of his father, Andrew's happiness is Roger's happiness too, Peter's happiness too, but the foundation of this happiness is built on Andrew's inner pain and pain, even Andrew practices it by singing his songs by overdoing it so that his brain cells slowly begin to be permanently damaged.

The same thing was experienced by Johathan and his family, because they were looking for happiness that he thought for the sake of his children and grandchildren, he never knew that Lucia had nearly killed herself many times by dipping her head in the bathtub and even trying to commit suicide in a terrible way. , slicing her own vagina, the goal is, if it fails to die then Lucia's vagina will never be used by male porn stars again, luckily she failed to do it because in one incision she felt unbearable pain, she could only cry and endure the pain. in the bathroom bathtub. Bathed in blood mixed with bathtub water, Lucia is found unconscious by Jonathan, he also knows the cause, but for the sake of happiness in the future, Jonathan continues to force the existing plans to keep going.

Back to Andrew, because he lived too often in his songs, one day Andrew fell into a coma in his apartment without being noticed by anyone, until one day a security guard who suspected Andrew had never been seen going out through the guarded door finally contacted 911, after being broken into by Andrew already lying on the edge of the bed. Andrew was in a coma for several months, the doctor also stated that if he recovered he would lose consciousness and act like a person with mental disabilities. Andrew could not possibly be able to recover again because so many brain tissue cells were damaged.

In the ending of the film Peter tries to bring Andrew to the concert of The Everly Brothers, his brother's favorite duo who is rising, on the advice of a neurologist, but unfortunately, when it comes to a concert held at a famous nightclub it is over. Peter, who was very fond of his brother, insisted that the concert be repeated, at least one song was sung. With his capacity as Capo and the son of the boss of the Uttah family who is the most powerful of all the underground kingdoms in America, finally Peter and Andrew can enter freely, The Everly Brothers are willing to bring one song, namely Love Hurts, Peter feels that this will make his younger brother happy because of The Everly Brothers are Andrew's favorite duo.

The duo started singing Love Hurts, Peter enjoyed it then he looked at his younger brother, he found Andrew shaking his body to the rhythm of the song, Peter watched his brother with a disappointed look on his face, because the neurologist had said that if Andrew started shaking his body, that means the song he is listening to is a very important song that makes his illness recur, meaning that in his subconscious Andrew is experiencing tremendous pain, but Peter can't bother his younger brother's delusions, because if he tries to revive his younger brother, then Peter instead it made Andrew hysterical, deepening the wound. He also let his younger brother remain in delusions. And do you know what the song means for Andrew? For Andrew, the song is about his relationship with Lucia, it hurts because he was blocked by his own brother. Ironic isn't it? Peter tries to make Andrew happy, but Peter's way to make Andrew happy makes his brother's illness recur, it hurts their feelings.

The song is also a connection of what Andrew considers to be a feeling of people on earth who, according to him, is the same as him, that love is very painful, yes with that idea Andrew tries to educate all mankind on earth, telling that this is the feeling of someone who gets the painful side of something. a feeling called love that is adored by mankind, of course it is only in his subconscious, as Andrew dreamed, feeling the suffering of others, so that one another does not hurt each other anymore. Andrew tries to make all mankind happy, all for the sake of satisfaction, for his happiness as well, but he unconsciously hurts his own feelings and also hurts his brother's feelings.

Meanwhile, Peter, with gloomy eyes from holding back shed tears, continued watching the duo Everly brothers. Andrew is comfortable in his own subconscious, the song continues to play until the credit title.
