GENRE: Comedy

An unsuccessful writer inherits a struggling vineyard and tax debts. Through an old friend he finds an unorthodox solution to his problems, leading to unforeseen consequences, mayhem and chaos.

Rainer is a wannabe writer, enjoying life with his rich girlfriend in the big city, far away from his family’s humble vineyard. To them, he is the picture of success.

One day, his easy life is shattered when his father passes away and he is forced to step up to the plate and help his family out. He thinks this will be over quickly. However, things get complicated when they find that his father was not only broke, but they owe the tax man a lot of money. The family faces losing everything, including their home.

In desperation, he accepts the advice of his chemist friend Max to follow a “legally dubious” solution to his problems that dramatically increases his wine production. The results far exceed his expectations, igniting the suspicion of the local taxman who has long held a grudge against him. His dislike for Rainer grows further when the girl he’s after spurns him, but flirts with Rainer instead. His resentment reaches new heights when the whole village starts to consider Rainer a savior after he unadvisedly shares his formula for success.

The village chooses Rainer as the next mayor, despite the taxman’s efforts to bring him down. On the day he is to be officially sworn in, the whole scheme comes crashing down – literally.
