About Ernest

Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico I had a love and passion for Movies and Film making at an early age but it was not until the first summer of 1996 when I watched the movie From Dusk Till Dawn, Directed by Robert Rodriguez. That day was a catalyst of my dream career and I realized a Hispanic like me could succeed in the Film industry. Now filled with ambition, I began to write my own screen plays and shoot short films using the limited resources I could to fulfill my visual goals of my films. By my senior year in high school I had won 3 local film festivals and one screen writing festival. After graduating High school in 2006 I attended CNM Community College and in 2008 and graduated with my diploma for Film Technician 101. Over the next couple of years I worked in broadcast Television for one of the local TV stations KRQE News 13 as a floor director, and also worked on independent production opportunities around town such as PA on the hit TV Show Breaking Bad. After years of contemplating where to begin the pursuit for my career, in 2016 I moved to Los Angeles California to chase my dream of being a Filmmaker. In 2017 I graduated with my degree in Film making from the New York Film Academy in Burbank California. I am skilled in all areas in both Pre and Post production in film making such as directing, writing, editing, sound boom, gaffing, and griping. Since Graduating film school I have continued to work on multiple professional productions such as Feature Films , Short Films, Commercials and Music Videos in the Los Angeles area.My goal is to obtain a position with a Production team where I can utilize my education and acquired creative skill set to make a positive contribution to the cultural and professional environment.
