About Debra

Debra Whitfield is an award-winning actress, director, and writer. She has worked at The Mint Theater, Florida Studio Theatre, Virginia Stage Company, Bristol Riverside Theatre, Dorset Theatre Festival, Two River Theater Company, Hartford TheaterWorks, the Human Race Theatre Company, Premiere Stages, and the Bickford Theatre, among others. Her favorite roles include Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire, Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra and Natasha in the musical, Rough Crossing. Off-Broadway she has directed The Banana Monologues and Olympics Über Alles. She’s also directed Brighton Beach Memoirs, Picasso at the Lapin Agile and Witness for the Prosecution. Debra’s writing credits include: FIRE, Duck Sauce Can Be Dangerous, The Man in the Window, and Champagne, all produced in New York City. Her play Tech Support will have a production at 59E59 Theaters in the summer of 2019, which she will direct. Debra is the Artistic Director of the Chatillion Stage Company and is on the Board of Directors for The Shaw Project. She is a proud member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA and SDC. DebraWhitfield.net
