Three men with very little in common purchase three $1500 cars on the internet to test their reliability across a 700 mile trip. Various challenges are accepted, sights are seen, pranks are played on each other throughout each episode.
SYNOPSIS:
Just a Bunch of Knobs follows Justin, Joe, and Paul, on a weekly adventure where they will be tasked with purchasing a specific type of vehicle (truck, suv, convertible, hatchback, etc) with current inspection on the internet for an absurdly low amount of money. They will meet up at a pre-determined location and focus on how each of the others have purchased the wrong vehicle, while promoting their own.
They must complete a list of challenges that are appropriate to the vehicle type which they were required to buy, in addition to running it through inspection to see how much it would need to pass in it's current state. Once complete, they will set out on a 2-3 day 700-1000 mile trip to test reliability on a long distance journey, stopping at various sight seeing spots with their take on them. Along the journey they will find additional things that have gone wrong with their vehicle, in addition to various defects that were either developed on the ride or from other cast members.
At the half way point, each cast member will be allowed to spend the remainder of the amount they didn't spend for their vehicle purchase price ($1500 budget - $1000 car = $500 remaining) to modify their vehicle to make their ride more comfortable or reliable, or to add a utility they did not previously have. Patching leaks in a convertible top or adding a radio where there was previously none are a few examples.
In the event of a breakdown the driver will be required to fix their car on the spot with minimal aid or spare parts, if they cannot they will be forced to drive the less desirable backup vehicle, should one be available. If not, they forfeit the challenge.
In the conclusion of the show each of the cast members will talk about their vehicle. They'll go over what they liked, what they didn't, problems and features. They will talk about if they were happy with their purchase, or what they would have done differently.
