BAYOU NOIR
By Christopher Neal Fisher

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE: The wealthy and influential Delacroix family must deal with internal dysfunction and external threats — both human and supernatural — in order to maintain their power and position in the Cajun Country town of Bayou Noir, Louisiana.

SYNOPSIS:

The Delacroix family is rich, powerful, influential, and nothing happens — legal or illegal — in the Cajun Country town of Bayou Noir, Louisiana, without the say-so of the family’s patriarch, Jean-Baptiste “JB”. But when you’re all those things, and you live in one of the most supernaturally-charged areas of America, you’re bound to have more than a few skeletons (and ghosts, vampires, werewolves, witch queens, zombies, etc.) in your family’s closet...

This is a great log line, but it's giving me HBO True Blood vibes. Set it apart and you'll have a 10 on your hands. Great job!

Thanks, Jon! Tbh, though, the way the supernatural is handled in my show is/would be much different than in True Blood. True Blood treated the supernatural as an everyday fact of real life; my show treats in much more low key way, such as it was on Kolchak: The Night Stalker or The X-Files, where it's real, but can't be proven in any sort of accepted scientific way, thus allowing the authorities to treat it with "plausible deniability". Of course, there are some who know better... ;-) (FWIW, its two main sources of inspiration and influence are Dark Shadows -- the original one I grew up with, not that abomination of a movie -- and The Sopranos.)

Christopher Neal Fisher

Thanks, Laura! The supernatural part I've always considered a key element of the show's concept since the idea first came to me nearly 20 years ago, especially given that it's set in an area of the country well-known for its supernatural reputation.

Incredible setting for your world and your characters!

You've said it best: The Sopranos-meets-supernatural entities, but with a bit of True Blood thrown in there. Looking forward to see more from you.
