After completing the British Film Institute's Postgraduate Certificate in Film Journalism and graduating from Exeter University with a First Class Masters in Film Studies, I began a career in film journalism, writing programme notes for festivals, editing the website of the Cambridge Film Festival, and interviewing numerous filmmakers, actors and writers (including Danny Boyle, Darren Aronofsky, Catherine Breillat, Damian Lewis, Jenny Agutter, Stephen Rae, Joe Penhall, Shawn Ryan and Steven Moffat). I was soon hailed by the BFI as one of the next generation of film critics to watch out for, citing my article ‘Filming the Unfilmable: The Factional World of Bret Easton Ellis’.
In 2007, I became Assistant Editor of movieScope magazine, where I helped develop the magazine’s unique position in the UK Film Industry, covering the process and business of international movie making from an insider's point of view.
In 2012, I decided to concentrate full time on my screenwriting career. My first feature script, Love You Long Time, is in pre-production, and I have penned three exciting Short Films entitled The Caravan Trilogy — directed by Andrew Gunn, starring Ian Puleston-Davies and David Warner.
I am also assistant editor on Wing Chun Illustrated, the world's only magazine dedicated to the popular martial art of Wing Chun.
