Shy Pilgreen

Shy was raised in a small town in rural Alabama. Without access to theater or performing arts in her hometown she escaped into the world of film. Since theater was nonexistent Shy gravitated towards sports. Shy excelled at Gymnastics, dance, karate, swimming, horseback riding, and diving, a sport in which she was a gold medalist in statewide competitions.

Initially Shy’s major at Auburn University was sports medicine. After her first formal acting class, she took to the stage even more naturally than she had taken to the water as a young girl.

Shy traveled to San Francisco that summer and enrolled in theater courses while working at a day camp as a swimming instructor. She returned to Auburn as a theater major. The following summer Shy was accepted into the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.).

After attending A.C.T. she transferred to the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) and graduated the following year. Upon graduation she moved to Los Angeles and has resided there working in film & television as an actor and producer ever since.

She holds a B.A. in Theatre from UCSB, has completed graduate level courses at the American Conservatory Theatre (A.C.T.) in San Francisco, as well as classes at the Howard Fine Acting Studio. Shy has also worked with the famed comedy troupe, “The Groundlings.” Producing multiple stage productions during this time.

Shy’s currently pitching her pilot/proof of concept “South of Sanity” to cable networks as well as streaming media platforms, post production wrapped May 2017. (Shy Pilgreen -Creator, Writer, Producer, Co-Director, Actor).

Her production slate now consists of the feature film “Blue Bayou”, written by Barry Schneider.

Recent credits include the film Dixieland starring Faith Hill, & RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad), Nocturna (Estella Warren & Jonathan Schaech), and NCIS New Orleans (Scott Bakula & CCH Pounder). Shy was the Lead Actor & Producer in the feature "Bigfoot County" which was distributed in the US through Lionsgate and has received overseas distribution as well.
