Evelyn Roberts Brooks

Hi everyone. I’m an optioned screenwriter, Nicholl Fellowships quarterfinalist, and the author of 20+ books, both fiction and nonfiction. I'm a member of Women in Film.

I write scripts featuring strong female leads, and often with a supernatural or fantasy element. I’ve also written a script on assignment for a producer, who loved it.

At this time, I’m pitching six projects with double-recommend coverage from Stage 32.

That's my Golden retriever Sugar Bear in the photo with me. She often acts as my Muse. I'm part of the ScreenwritingU community and hope to network with other writers and members of Stage 32! Just noticed there's a place in the profile to list my height, weight etc. Hmmm, I'm going to assume no one really cares what a writer looks like. Our words on the page are our portfolio.

I was born in Fort Worth, Texas, then we moved to Houston before going on to Washington DC and then to Tulsa, Oklahoma where I went to high school and college. From there it was on to NYC and then Los Angeles. I love LA and I think it's an amazing city filled with creative energy.
