About Nicole

Nicole is a writer-director and producer from Cork, Ireland. Graduating with an MA in Film and Screen Media from National University of Ireland in 2018, she has over five years’ experience as a writer, director, and producer of low-budget short films and music videos. Strongly engaged with the independent film production landscape worldwide, she turned her attention to feature screenwriting for the US market in 2018, fostering a fruitful writing partnership with fellow creator, Kenneth Kelliher, and building a portfolio of well-received spec scripts for film and television projects.

Before working in film, Nicole gained a reputation as an exciting, original voice in fashion journalism, contributing to boutique fashion publications in London and Dublin; and also worked in black box theatre as both a costume designer and stage manager.

Currently, she is in the development stages of production on her feature-film directorial debut. A culmination of all of her preoccupations as an artist and as a storyteller, "Innocence Lost" is a long-standing passion project for her and was written as an ode to deep sister relationships and an exploration of the female socio-sexual experience. Tired of waiting around for the figurative gates to be opened, she decided to 'make' the film happen and is working tirelessly to get the elements in place to bring her vision to life.

Unique traits: As a filmmaker, Nicole is interested in emotional and psychological explorations and stylized aesthetics. Drawing from deeply personal experiences she is inspired to share stories that open eyes and make people think. Her work is marked by character-driven, female-centric stories, distinct settings and complex relationships. Despite her Irish heritage, she writes and makes American movies- an ode to the films and artists that have inspired and influenced her since childhood. Brandishing a deep love for actors and their craft, Nicole is an actor's director who works thoroughly with her actors on script to screen adaptation.
