About Jennifer

Director, actress, writer, JENNIFER NICOLE STANG has been a dedicated artist since her youth. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and having lived in England, Canada, the US and Spain, Jennifer has had the opportunity to diversify her art in music and acting, as well as dance.
Jennifer began playing piano and taking ballet classes when she was 3 years old. She has studied with the most prestigious institutions in the world, including, The Royal Conservatory of Music, The National Ballet School, The Royal Academy of Dance (Toronto, Canada) and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (both NYC and LA). At the age of 12, Jennifer began composing and writing her own lyrics. After studying classical voice (with Suburban Music School), she decided to dedicate her time in studying with the legendary voice guru, Katie Aresta (NYC). While she studied music and dance, she also participated with People’s Light and Theatre Company (PA), and Teatro Viento Sur (Seville, Spain).

Jennifer was part of the Opus 1 Contemporary Dance Company in Philadelphia, and performed as a guest dancer for Pasion Y Arte Flamenco Dance Company. In 2002, she formed the group Blue Canvas with her brother, producing both CD’s and music videos. In 2005, she sold both CD and DVD as a solo act, recorded and filmed at the Grapestreet Philadelphia, and in addition, toured the East Coast of the US with her band. In 2007 she sold her 2nd album, LA YENI EP through ITUNES, Rhapsody, Emusic and Napster, and in 2008, she formed the flamenco group, Calle Peral.

In 2005, Jennifer went to Seville, Spain to pursue her passion for flamenco dance and voice, studying with Felipe Mato, Alicia Marquez, Alejandro Granados, Rafaela Carrasco, among others. After studying flamenco, Jennifer went back to live in England to pursue acting further, studying at the London Academy of Media, Film and TV (London, UK) and with Isabel Pollen at RADA.
Jennifer then came to Los Angeles, to further her studies in acting, studying at AADA. She then performed with South Coast Repertory in director Mark Rucker's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Feeling unsatisfied with just focusing on acting, Jennifer began her own film production company with her brother. Heart Anchor Productions was created in 2011, and since, her company has worked on various projects, producing videos for various clients, and producing three shorts films.

El Lago is Jennifer's first featured projects as a solo director. She feels, after completing El Lago, that she has finally found her niche as director/writer/artist. She wishes to continue creating projects as such, so she may share her innovative and dynamic art with the rest of the world.
