Jessica Mellor has been lucky enough to write about films and filmmakers for over fifteen years and has travelled the world visiting sets, checking out locations and interviewing stars. She has written for everyone from Empire magazine to the Huffington Post and was the Daily Mirror DVD critic for eleven years. She has written and directed shorts for over a decade and had her most recent movies Billy Blaze and Before They Were Dubz shown at the British Urban Film Festival (of which she is now on the board), and Before They Were Dubz is now on sale at major outlets. She has also worked on various friends’ projects, including camerawork on an E4 production – Mayhem Makers – and made ‘films in a day’ with kids, where she makes inspiring shorts, from inception to edit, in a day. Her next major project is One Love, her feature directorial debut set in the world of pirate radio stations in 1990, featuring a cool up-and-coming cast. It looks set to be the definitive film about rave culture. She is already in pre-production and plan to shoot in October 2012.
