About Mark

I have composed for many films and events, the most famous being Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Shocking Truth which has also sold out on vinyl with Pure Destructive Records, being featured in the recent Blood on Black Wax definitive encyclopedia of horror music by Rue Morgue.

My studio is pro tools based and I use a combination of traditional live instrumentation, synthesis and purpose built experimental instruments to compose emotive music in sympathy with the moving image.

I studied music at Dartington College of Arts under the tutelage of Edward Cowie and Frank Denyer and this influence has been a huge part of my working methodology and professional career.

Recent projects include providing original music for The Tracy Vanity Show, the performance artist Hannah Haddix and atmospheric sound for The Haunted Museum.

Away from film I have performed on many festival mainstages with and worked with many highly regarded musicians such as Jason Lytle, Psychic TV, Dean Honer, The Halle Orchestra and many others.

My other passion is music education and I have worked hard to provide children and young adults the opportunity to learn to play musical instruments, proudly leading a childrens orchestra to perform for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as part of her diamond jubilee celebrations in 2012.

I am enthusiastic about new projects, work well alone or as part of a team and have a tenacious attitude to getting the job done regardless of budget or tight deadlines.
