Desperate to save his job, a neurotic Rolling Stain reporter ventures to a remote tropical island for an interview and takes refuge at a free-spirited pop star's beach house in a hurricane while hiding his phobias for water, wind, and girls.

SYNOPSIS:

Phobia-ridden reporter, Scooter Haliburton, is about to be fired from Rolling Stain Magazine after months of non-productivity. His neuroses have him afraid of everything since he got pink eye at a Miley interview and infected his whole family. He can’t lose this job right before a family reunion where his mom plans to show him off to prove he’s not the family weak link. When he overhears the secret whereabouts of pop music’s super-star, Cashmere, he knows this is his chance to save his job. But the star is holed up on remote Marisol Island in the Bahamas and Scooter doesn't leave the city, or go on planes, or islands. Cashmere's been a year on tour and after buying a house on Marisol, heads off to paint with her Italian model boy. But Giancarlo Guiseppe is a city guy and after fighting with Cashmere for a week, he’s happy to sever his ties with the free-spirited pop star who likes snorkelling, cooking, and painting nude. Setting out for the Island, Scooter realizes his fear of planes, boats, the ocean, islands, and girls might get in the way of him fulfilling his mission unless he can fake it until he makes it. Scooter finds Marisol shut up in anticipation of a tropical storm and his water taxi takes off with residents, leaving Scooter behind. Befriended by two tipsy Brits, Niles and Betty McCullough, Scooter discovers he’s staying next door to Cashmere whose name is really Ashley. sneaks over to find the star painting outside, topless and unapologetic. He hides his mission to interview her and over drinks with Niles and Betty (a nightly ritual) Scooter and Cashmere bond over their shared Scrabble obsession. Two days pass waiting for the water taxi to return and soon Scooter and Cashmere having a flirty connection. She tries to teach him to snorkel, he tries to encourage her to stay out of the ocean, and when the storm is upgraded to a hurricane and heads for Marisol, all four hunker down at Cashmere’s house. But Scooter's secret is leaked by Nigel that he’s here to write a piece on Cashmere for Rolling Stain. Feeling betrayed, Cashmere ousts him to fend for himself in the storm. On the threat of negligent homicide and a scandal, Cashmere lets him back in and they bicker but decide to play Scrabble in her closet. After hours of talking and flirting, they kiss. Niles and Betty are passed out under the bar and in checking to see if the storm is over, Scooter ends up heading outside to rescue a crocodile that he pulls into the house, half dead. The storm passes and Cashmere grants the interview on one condition. He must stay to help her clean up the property after the hurricane. Also, they won’t be having another kiss until the article is sent off to Rolling Stain. Niles and Betty leave on their boat. (they had a boat all this time?) Scooter and Cashmere hold off on the physical relationship while he interviews and writes but the moment he files it with Rolling Stain, they fall into bed. A year later, Scooter and Cashmere are a happy couple. attending a book signing in NYC for Betty’s book titled, “Hurricane Season.” Scooter has just interviewed Madonna for the magazine and on the way home with his pop star girlfriend, Ashley.
