About Arik

Arik Martin is a screenwriter and playwright from Chicago, where he cut his teeth producing underground theatre in a dilapidated storefront. Critics there hailed him as "the best legit playwright Chicago has seen since David Mamet," and "one of the smartest playwrights working in Chicago - or at least one of the most masterful at manipulating his audience." His feature screenwriting debut, the low budget indie cult thriller SYMPATHY, which AINTITCOOL.COM dubbed their "favorite film" of Hollywood ScreamFest, was called "a well-guided female empowerment missile" by VARIETY. He was a writer for the 2014 CBS Diversity Showcase, and in 2015 they brought him back as Head Writer. He currently represents CBS as a volunteer mentor for the Young Storytellers Foundation. Arik studied Theatre at Florida State University, where he attended on a National Merit Scholarship, and is represented by Credence Talent.
