Lou Caputo is a renowned talent and creative force. He is a commanding presence both in front of and behind the camera. Lou has conceived, written, produced and directed literally hundreds of projects in a variety of media.
Lou made his mark with his meteoric rise in the span of his first ten years at the Home Shopping Network. As Show Host, his popularity led to thousands of hours of on-air live television. Lou then was appointed Broadcast Producer. His award winning promotions and interstitial programming had a direct impact in the increased profitability of the broadcasts. Lou was subsequently named Director of Program Development, where he created innovative shows that attracted a substantial new customer base. Notably Lou developed the highly successful morning show, “Sunrise” which consistently set records for sales and viewership. Upon being named Vice President of Broadcast Operations, Lou took over leadership for all aspects of production for the network, including the studios, crews, and talent. Lou devised the new “look” and stronger visual appeal of the network. He oversaw a budget in the tens of millions.
Lou was sought out by HSN Direct International to serve as their Creative Director for direct response marketers. Lou led the total creative development and production for all of the company's media products, infomercials and short form efforts. During this period, fondly called the “frequent flyer years”, Lou produced shows in LA, New York, Chicago, and all points in between.
As VP of Production for a national multimedia production company based in Tampa, Lou took on the challenge of a wider variety of media, including video, CD's, DVD's and live corporate events. Lou took the company's creative and production efforts to new levels while raising their profile and profitability. He developed live shows and produced corporate events throughout the USA, Canada and Mexico. Lou proudly produced the Opening and Closing events for the USA Hockey and Figure Skating Teams at the Salt Lake City Olympics.
In 2003, Lou founded his own creative media company Caputo Creative – C2. The company is a vehicle for Lou as talent, consultant, marketer, and producer. C2 also specializes in direct response television, corporate communications and web videos. C2’s prominent clients include numerous well-known actors and presenters, as well as corporations such as Conair, Home Shopping Network, QVC, The Shopping Channel in Canada, Black & Decker, Holmes, Champs Sports, Foot Locker, Lexmark, and Hoover, and many others.
Lou is a highly coveted guest presenter on HSN and TSC (Canada) promoting a wide variety of offerings, such as specialty home solutions, “As Seen on TV” products, and electronics. He is always looking for the next “big thing” to sell on TV. He shares his experiences on the speaker circuit and consults for major media, television retailers, and vendors. Most recently Lou has been touring with Kevin Harrington of TV’s Shark Tank speaking on the secrets of effective product pitches. When not working, Lou enjoys spending time with his lovely wife Kelli and their two dogs Annabelle and Olive. He is a Pisces who loves boating, fishing, scuba diving and long walks on the beach. He appreciates fine dining and has been known to indulge in the occasional microbrew or bottle of fine wine…although rarely in the same glass.
