About Phil

I am fairly new to screenwriting and I am currently based in Sydney Australia.

In my life I have been a cop. I have been a martial arts instructor. I have been a lawyer I am now a private investigator specialising in workplace issues.

Some people say that truth is stranger than fiction but in my experience that's not the case. I have often been told that I should write a book , however if you knew me you would know that writing a TV show would be more my thing so that's what I did.

My first 2 scripts, The Investigators and Karate School are based on my actual life, I am the character of Paul McKnight in both. The Complex Life is also based on my life and my family 'loosely', my wife and I do have 5 kids between us 4 ex's and an assortment of interesting relatives.

The other characters and scripts are composites of people I met over my years as a Police Officer and Investigator and 30 years as a martial art instructor. The situations are real, although I have embellished somewhat for dramatic effect.

My scripts have some connection to my actual life in one way or another.

I enjoy writing comedy however I have completed one action script so far and have some other action/police procedural/sci-fi in the pipeline partially completed.

I am currently seeking representation.

Unique traits: My scripts have a direct connection to my life in one way or another.
