SCHISM
By Reece Timberwolf Taylor

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE:

After becoming a pariah for his bitter outbursts, A talented lone wolf writer must work with a misfit crew and a psychotic director to break his negative image and lead a successful show.

SYNOPSIS:

James Thomas has crossed the final line. Dubbed “The Lycan of Literature”, James

was once an ambitious writer and a future great, but the business aspect of Hollywood

and studio intervention destroyed his ambition, leading to years of venomous

confrontations and creative attacks on anyone involved in the show or in film. After the

vicious assault of his archenemy, critic Dirk Darling and his subsequent tasing, years of

refusing to cooperate with the studio, and the threat of a max exodus, the network finally

ousts James from his position as Showrunner and writer. James tries to attack his point

but is once again dragged away humiliated and unconscious.

With his career deteriorating, Dirk gloating, and his show in other hands, James is at his

absolute lowest, and the only people on his side are his wife, Beth, his close friend

Jackie takes over as showrunner, a position she couldn’t care less about, and Craig,

who thinks he can take over the production since he’s the star of the show. As egos

collide, Schism has a grenade dropped onto the production with a new director, Brock

Tarnowski, the worst director in history and is the only person who will work with James

and the few episodes he can write. Brock is the worst-case scenario since he is

completely oblivious to standard film procedure, lacks talent, and stalking Craig since

they worked on his universally panned film.

Realizing he needs to act; James attacks and intimidates Brock. Ashton Steele, the

head of the studio, and Beth finally gets James to take responsibility for the show’s

current state and must work with Brock and the Studio. With Dirk constantly attacking

James, a husband and wife power struggle for control of the show, and a witless

director who could potentially end his career, James is now at a crossroads. Is he willing

to give up absolute control and his mindset to rebuild his career?
