About Jill

Jill Gurr is the Founder and CEO of Create Now, which is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit that has reached more than 48,000 of the most vulnerable kids in Southern California by empowering them through arts education and mentoring. We serve young people from ages 3 to 24 (TAY), especially those challenged by poverty, abuse, neglect, homelessness, incarceration, and similar challenges - the "forgotten children" who have fallen through the cracks.

Our workshops in music, visual arts, writing, performance, digital media, fashion and culinary arts take place at shelters, foster group homes, rehab centers, detention facilities, mental health agencies, and pre-schools, Title 1, continuation and charter schools throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. Every year, Create Now brings thousands of children to concerts, plays, museums and other Cultural Journeys at premier venues. We also produce community events, like Power of the Arts Festivals and mural projects.

Create Now recruits volunteer filmmakers to help capture our arts programs in action. We need videographers and editors. Since we have new programs starting all the time all over LA County, we can arrange for you to use your skills and talents by giving back to the community through documenting the amazing work that our charity has been accomplishing for 23 years.

Once you establish yourself with Create Now, we will hire you for short gigs as they become available, usually for $100/2 hours.
