By Michael W. Hogan

GENRE: Sci-fi, Comedy
LOGLINE:

A retired hall of fame baseball announcer finds new purpose when he’s abducted by aliens, throwing him back into the game to save a stadium full of fans from hungry extraterrestrials.

SYNOPSIS:

BENNY BUCHENSTEIN (60s-70s) has been forced into retirement by new team management looking to put a younger, prettier face in the broadcast booth. Betrayed by the team and ripped from the career he so loved, Benny has hit rock bottom. Until one night, he’s abducted from his back yard by a friendly species of extraterrestrial.

Aboard their spacecraft, the friendly ET’s give Benny a way-too-closeup look at an evil extraterrestrial species. Their kind are planning to invade earth to harvest humans as a food source. The benevolent aliens that abducted Benny believe his fame, credibility and history of reaching millions of people is the only hope for saving the evil ETs’ first target: a stadium full of baseball fans.

Waking the following morning in a backyard flower bed, Benny is convinced that the invasion threat is real and not a nightmare caused by a bad can of beans. He begins fumbling along to devise a plan of action, facing ridicule and scorn each step of the way.

Benny enlists help from MATIAS (12), the intelligent but lonely kid next door; and calls in a favor from close friend and ballclub field manager, CLUTCH (40s) to help.

Benny’s new purpose, a young boy’s ingenuity, a friend’s loyalty, and the evil aliens’ “kryptonite”—bubble gum—combine to stave off the invasion and save all of humanity.
