About Stanislava

My name is Stanislava (Stacy) Buevich. I am Russian born, British film writer and director, living and working in London. I graduated from UCL with a degree in Psychology and later Metropolitan Film School. My short films, which I have written and directed have been screened all over the world at over 50 film festivals and competitions including BFI London Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, Busho Film Festival, FrightFest, Detmold Film Festival, FECI Bogota, Skepto Film Festival among many others. I won awards for my music video, short film work and writing, including awards from the Indie Fest and the Accolade competition. My music video Easy on the Eye () won awards from Skepto film festival and Screen Stockport. It was also nominated for Cannes in a Van, Van D’Or award and was screened at the Screen Social. Several of my films have been nominated for the Limelight award. Apple Pie () and Geoffrey’s Heart () are both part of anthology feature films Short Cuts to Hell 1 and 2, available on ITunes. Geoffrey's Heart was shown on BBC3 and Horror Channel. My film Book vs an Antiquarian (?v=Ca0c_VlCscY) made specifically for the “Who's There” Film Challenge was shortlisted for Best Director award and is featured on Bloody Cuts website and Best of Competition DVD. I collaborated with Litha and Effy Efthymiou on creation of a multi-media performance piece Parting, performed at the King’s Place. I created the films that were projected onto layers of translucent fabric and directed the interaction of the film with the live dancer on stage. The production received very positive reviews. I am currently writing and hoping to develop several feature films and TV shows. One of the feature films is a psychological horror film, that is an expansion to my FrightFest national competition finalist film Geoffrey’s Heart, that was screened on BBC 3 as part of their show called The Fear. I love making films and mixing genre. I am passionate director who loves her craft and a filmmaker with unique vision and distinctive signature style.
