SYNOPSIS:

In 1965, DR. RICHARD DEWITT rushes into the Gabriel Mental Hospital moments before it is all but destroyed by a terrible explosion. Fleeing the building moments before it explodes, DR. GIDEON VARGA drives away into the night. Thirty years later, in 1995, Richard Dewitt’s daughter DR. LINA DEWITT returns home to help her mother resolve her grandmother’s estate. Finding Richard Dewitt’s diary in her grandmother’s belongings, Lina begins to suspect that his death was not the accident Dr. Varga has been claiming it was for the last 30 years. Determined to find an answer to the mystery of her grandfather’s death, Lina takes a job treating patients at the Gabriel Clinic. Getting settled in her new job at the hospital, Lina finds Dr. Varga’s demeanor to be just as sinister as one might expect from a murderer. As Lina makes her way out of the facility, she has an unsettling encounter with Dr. Varga… as well as an encounter with something much, much harder to define. Is there a ghostly figure watching her? That night, Dr. Dewitt does not sleep well at all. Getting into the flow of her work at the Gabriel Mental Hospital proves almost impossible for Lina. While her patients are straightforward cases of drug addiction, requiring little more than medication, straightforward platitudes, and reassurances from the doctor, Lina’s work is routinely disrupted by strange and disturbing visions. As her health begins to suffer, Lina finds herself getting closer to a colleague by the name of DONOVAN. Finding Lina overwhelmed by visions and exhaustion, Donovan coaxes the woman into telling him about her visions of the woman and the examination room. While Donovan expresses comforting reassurances, he also reports her distress to Dr. Varga. As the world of her visions and the world of the mental hospital begin bleeding together, Lina begins questioning everyone she can find in the search for answers. Breaking into the office of Dr. Varga, Lina ransacks his file cabinet… and discovers several folders full of patient files chosen by Dr. Varga for illegal, fatal experimentation. When she reaches out to Donovan with her discoveries, she quickly discovers that he’s been working with Dr. Varga the entire time. Like her own grandfather, Donovan is Varga’s accomplice! Drawn into the secret laboratory by her visions and her quest for justice, Lina comes face to face with the horrors carried out by Dr. Varga and her grandfather. Overwhelmed by her visions, Lina is easily waylaid by Dr. Varga!
