Recently transplanted from Massachusetts, John Macey is best known for his role as the sleeping guy in the viral short film “The Mistake,” a finalist at Tropfest 2012, which has scored over 3.4 million views and been featured on Reddit and Buzzfeed. A classically trained actor with a diverse background covering everything from Shakespeare to musical theatre to improv comedy, John has performed with the touring company of Boston’s Improv Asylum and, since moving to Los Angeles, he co-founded and starred in the 48MinuteFilmSeries, a webseries featuring weekly improvised shorts conceived, shot and edited in 48 minutes or less.
John’s feature film credits include "The Republic of Rick" (which premiered at the 2014 Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah), “Thinking With Richard,” “R.A.D.I.C.A.L.S.,” and most recently “Any Day” with Sean Bean, Tom Arnold, Kate Walsh, and Eva Longoria.
On television, John has guest starred on TruTV’s “Operation Repo” and Spike’s “1000 Ways to Die.” In 2014, John co-starred in an episode of Comedy Central’s “Workaholics” (Season 4, Episode 7, "We Be Clownin'").
