About Winston

Completed debut Independent feature film titled "Taj" (writer/director/ co-producer). The first draft screenplay reached finals (top 5) of the Australian Writer's Guild best un-produced screenplay competition. Taj has screened at the Busan (South Korea), Boston ( Mass), Tiburon (California) international Film festivals and at OzAsia (Adelaide). Limited cinema release soon.

Late stages of development of a Bollywood inspired romantic comedy feature titled "Serena And Her Sisters". Script development funded by Screen Australia and reached the finals of the 2012 New York Screenwriting Contest (Comedy section).

Also in early pre-production with feature film working title "Blonde" ( writer/director) a satirical comedy about two twenty-something blondes who make an Indie film. Casting by Maura Fay Casting targeted shoot date is late 2015. Btw for all who bemoan decent roles for women in film, this film easily passes the Bechdel test.

Also in development is another feature film titled "Seed of the Mango" a contemporary English/Hindi indie feature film about Clara (45) a left wing French political journalist, living in India, who reads an unfinished manuscript by her dying husband, an Indian writer, which leads her on a voyage of discovery that draws to a close in the remote woodlands of India where her unfulfilled longings take new life.

Meanwhile, am making 8 short films of various genres in my spare time. Films shoots are from 1 to 4 days - a total of 20 days in the next 6 to 8 months

Have also taught a semester of Screenwriting at JMC academy. Best books on how to write screenplays : Emotional Structure by Peter Dunne, Save The Cat by Blake Snyder, The Anatomy of Story by John Truby, My Story Can Beat Up Your Story by Jeffrey Alan Schechter and Karl Iglesias's DVD series on dialog, subtext (etc) plus the inimitable David Mamet's On Directing and True and False. - all of which I highly recommend.

Unique traits: Its better to be a pirate than join the navy - Steve Jobs.
