About Emily

Emily Wilson is a filmmaker from Syracuse, NY and an alumna of the SUNY Purchase Film Conservatory. Her latest short film, Danny’s Girl, premiered at Sundance 2020 and is an official selection of SXSW.
Previously Emily co-wrote and directed the comedy pilot, I Adore Dolores, which was a selection of the 2018 IFP Screen Forward labs, premiered at Seriesfest, and won “Most Outrageous” at Orlando Film Festival.

During Emily’s time in New York City, she collaborated with several digital media platforms including National Geographic, Vice, Bustle, Conde Naste, Bleacher Report, and The Ford Foundation. In 2017, she became Head of Post Production at BDG Media, where she helped expand the video department to develop short form documentary and scripted series' for their growing digital platforms.

With several years of editing under her belt, Emily has edited the feature documentary, Reincarnated, which premiered at TIFF and post coordinated + AE'd the edit of Fishing Without Nets, a narrative feature film, which went on to win the U.S. Dramatic Directing Award at Sundance. She’s also edited Viceland’s acclaimed television series', Dark Side of the Ring, Balls Deep, and Outsider along with countless videos for Vice Digital.

Emily is currently a freelance filmmaker living in Los Angeles.
