Joey Molina is a native of Southern California and an award-winning actor, producer, singer, and writer. Joey is currently working with the San Diego Opera as a teaching artist, educating inner city kids on the fundamentals of singing, acting and theater arts. As an artist Joey has been featured in several critically acclaimed stage productions including the world premier productions of How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jack O Brien director) at the Old Globe, Celebration of the Lizard at the San Diego Rep, and most recently the urban opera Rule My World at the Long Beach Playhouse. Joey has been a featured tenor soloist throughout North America, Europe, and Australia. Some of the amazing venues he has had the opportunity to perform in include NYC’s famed Carnegie Hall, La Piccola Scala on the isle of Syros in Greece, the American Cathedral in Paris, the world-renowned Sydney Opera House and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles with members of the LA Phil. Joey singing abilities have not been limited to the musical, classical or operatic genres. Their first feature film Ruta Madre (starring David Castro, William Miller, Lia Marie Johnson, Paulina Gaitan, Angelica Maria, Carmen Salinas and Paul Rodriguez) performed very well on the indie circuit winning at several major film festivals including; International New York Film Festival (Winner Best Movie), Borrego Springs Film Festival (Winner People’s Choice Award), Indie-Fest (Winner Award of Excellence Special Mention and Award of Excellence Latin /Hispanic), XicanIndie Film Festival (Winner Best Comedy), San Diego Latino Film Festival (Winner Best Frontera Feature Film and People’s Choice Award).
