We're forming a film and entertainment cooperative on southern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. The premise of the co-op is to gather together creative people interested in contributing their time and energy to film projects in order to learn together and includes everyone from beginning to end. Google the VI Film and Entertainment Cooperative and send me an email at ifecoop@gmail.com if you are intrigued!
Love it! That is something I have been interested in doing also! I live in Vancouver, and that would be great there also.

There's lots of info there about what a cooperative is all about but if you are serious and want more of the "technical" info about how to put one together email me a ifecoop@gmail.com. Forming movie-making cooperatives here in BC may be one of the ways to help save the film industry. Hope you're getting lots of work!
Thanks Lynn, sorry for the delay in replying. I am interested in putting one together and would love a little advice. I'll email you out from my personal email. Talk soon!

Expand postHi! I'm a founding member of the VI Film and Entertainment Cooperative in the Cowichan Valley on southern Vancouver Island in British Columbia. We're about 45 minutes north of our beautiful capital city of Victoria and about an hour and a half from Vancouver (Hollywood north). This is a collaborative venture for persons interested in the film industry and we welcome anyone trying to launch their career, people who want to be involved for fun or anyone who has a creative idea they want to see to fruition. We are pooling our time, energy and skills to make film/video and also various live entertainment events, documentaries, commercials, etc., etc. This is a great way to find opportunities without spending big $$ on film school or pounding the pavement trying to break into the industry. My personal interests lie in writing and I'm going to keep on doing it until I finally create something fabulous! Feel free to email ifecoop@gmail.com if you are interested in this concept. Cheers! Lynn

You can also invite fellow creatives through the site by using the "Send Stage 32 Invites..." button on the upper right side of your profile. The more creatives, the stronger the network.
