About Margaret

Originally from Houston, Texas, I have long-since considered myself a New Yorker. I sang from the time I could walk and as a young girl fell in love with Hollywood films and movie musicals, rushing home to watch old movies on the Million Dollar Movie on TV after school. After graduation with a Communications BA from Trinity University, I moved to New York and studied at Circle in the Square and The Actor’s Space, completing a 2-year professional acting program.

In addition to film, I also work in theatre as well as write, produce and direct. Favorite film roles include the lead role of Lily in the award-winning, independent feature film "Starfish"(now streaming on Indieflix), Attorney Andrews in the feature film Diamond Ruff starring Fredro Starr and Michael Collier, and Maryanne in the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival select short The Roofer. Favorite theatre roles: Administrator/Yana/Grace in Lonely, I’m Not (The Jewel Box, NYC,) Karin in two national Equity Tours of Church Basement Ladies, Titania in the musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream Fools in Love (MET & BAM’s Harvey Theatre).

Through my work, I seek to give voice to the people who've not been able to tell their story, either because they've been oppressed or overlooked. To shed light on inconvenient but crucial truths. To bring the elephant in the room out of the shadows and into the light so that understanding and potential movement can occur. (And of course, to entertain along the way.) I have a soft spot for the seemingly ordinary moments and people in life: the underdog; the unsung heroes; the quiet, small moments that can sometimes hold a lifetime.

It's my mission to collaborate deeply and bravely to create stories that inspire, educate, elicit, and evoke. To give voice to the voiceless and help the invisible to be seen. To wake people up so that they may embrace the duality of their lives to live life more fully and authentically.

Unique traits: Has a soft spot for the seemingly ordinary moments and people in life: the underdog; the unsung heroes; the quiet, small moments that can sometimes hold a lifetime.
