About Raymond

Filmmaker, writer, musician, and journalist. Worked both in the UK and USA. Creator of the YouTube channel ‘Skinny Ebert’, where I publish film reviews, documentaries, and vlogs about culture and politics. Sample and mix music under the names MXQ and Headsmoke. New screenwriter to the scene with three feature-length scripts so far and four short film scripts to name. Most of my works are satirical, darkly comic, and press on issues of the day (e.g. racism, Brexit, poverty, violence). Good friends with writer-director behind CUCK, Rob Lambert as well. Interviewed and met Peter Bogdanovich (PAPER MOON, LAST PICTURE SHOW) in-person back in 2011.

Unique traits: - Grew up near the film studios where they made the “Harry Potter” films and some of the Pierce Brosnan James Bond films (Leavesden Studios) - Favourite hobbies involve visiting automotive dealerships, eating lamb dishes, discussing film censorship and geopolitics, speaking French, and making music under the pseudonyms MXQ and Headsmoke - First televised appearance was as a very young child on the programme “Tiny & Crew” on Living TV back in the mid/late 1990s. - Favourite films which inspired my career include “Falling Down”, “Borat”, Natural Born Killers”, “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut”, “Team America: World Police”, “Get Out”, “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”, and the “Purge” franchise. - Favourite TV shows which serve as inspiration as well include “The Simpsons”, “Family Guy”, Chris Morris’ works like “Jam” and “Brasseye”, and “Da Ali G Show.” - Written many of my most recent script within the timespan of three to five days. - Unashamed to mix-and-blend genres particularly dark comedy/satire, drama, and action. Most f my films deal with issues with cultural identity, violence, racism, and political turmoil in the vein of not only Chris Morris but Robert Altman, Barry Levinson, Oliver Stone, Adam McKay, Sacha Baron Cohen and Spike Lee. - Plan to not only write my films but be responsible for editing, inputting archive images and footage, and score/soundtrack. Hopefully I can even direct my projects at budgets preferably less than $10 million (~ £7.5 million). I’d love to work with Channel 4/Film4 for projects. - Visited the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) for an education seminar in June 2013. Ian and Lucy at the time allowed me to take some photos and obtain some merchandise there
