About Cody

About me: Born July 6, 1990 at Temple University in Philadelphia. Moved to the state of
Maryland where I would spend most of my childhood. Growing up an only child gave me
a lot of independence. This made me always want to provide for my Mother by any
means necessary. I would watch my Mother work 2-3 jobs at a time to make sure I could
have the best (shoes, clothes, roof over my head, education). When I was younger I didn’t
really realize the sacrifices she was making on behalf of me. She always told me "As long
as your good, than I'm good" and meant every word so I knew I could not settle for less
in life and had to push myself until i couldn’t push anymore.
Around the tender age of 8 years old I did my first play "Charlottes Web" and received a
standing ovation and that was the night I fell in love with being a entertainer. As I
reached my teenage years I kind of lost focus and had to do a reality check and ask
myself, What do you want to do with your life? and growing up where I grew up there
were only two options either Jail or Death. So I went to Freestate Challenge Academy
(Military School) for 6 months which was the highlight of my life. I had gained a new
respect for my Mother, my Mentors, and most importantly my life. Friends and Family
say that was the best decision I could have made for my life and I agree. I received my
High School Diploma and my Mother was so proud of me and all she ever wanted was
the best for me and seeing her so excited and proud was priceless!! I hated seeing her
stress .
After graduation I had a whole new outlook on life and Now I'm Motivated and I started
really focusing on my career, started studying my idols such as ( Will Smith, Denzel
Washington, Tyson Beckford, Oprah, Meryl Streep, Russell Simmons, Tyrese and
Angela Carter) "I feel if you really love your craft you have to study".
Went to my first modeling audition in Baltimore didn't do that well so went home and
watched tape after tape of runway training, poses, etc. After some training I participated
in Dc Fashion week and once I hit the runway I felt so at home and realized at that
moment I had it in me to Model, because I learned its not just about being cute you have
to put the work in.
With Numerous Runway appearances later (Virginia, Dc, New York) and even adding
some print ads, numerous photo shoots, newspaper / pennysaver appearance to the
resume and still hungry for more.I have always been a character so I think I was born an
Actor, but watching Will Smith and Denzel Washington work is just an honor and
seeing them come from similar backgrounds as myself and build legacies its just so
inspiring to me.
I have a passion for Modeling ( Runway, Print, Catalog, Swimwear, Promotional
Modeling) and Acting (Theatre, Commercials, Film, Sitcoms,.) also ( Hosting, Extra,
Promoter, Charity Work) I am just in love with the art of Entertainment. I
have appeared in a few independent films, a web series. showcases, talent searches,
and a few workshps (Sitcoms, Hosting, Monologues, and Commercials) had a Lead
Role in Daddy Where Are You? which was featured in the Dc Black Theatre Festival in
August 2010.

Unique traits: Improv, Very great personality, & just love to work hard at all times
