Hi there, I'm Lyd! I'm an actor-scriptwriter who is passionate about lifting up the voices of marginalized communities. #rememberadam, a Zoom short I wrote about the ripple effects of police brutality, was shown in four film festivals and awarded an honorable mention by Andromeda Film Festival. I also wrote and self-produced a comedy webseries while working remotely with Second City. My first full-length play, The Thin Gray Line, was produced in February 2020. In the summer of 2019, I helped devise and acted in an adaptation of Antigone in Japan while interning at a record label/talent agency, DAGMusic/Japanese Voice Talent. My interest in emerging media and content lead me to work with HelloConvo, where I facilitate relationships between brands and content creators. Ultimately, I'm an incredibly resilient, adaptable and innovative creative professional who always sees projects through to completion.
I am a proud graduate of the Webster Conservatory of Theatre Arts class of 2020 with a BFA in Musical Theatre and Departmental Honors. I will attend The Royal Central School of Speech in Drama and earn my MA in Writing for Stage in Broadcast Media in 2021-22.
Other coursework and projects include Brent Forrester's class on TV writing, Second City's Webseries and Content Lab class, Sundance Co//ab TV Writing: Core Elements taught by Angela LaManna and facilitated by Vanessa Matsui, Jackalope Theatre’s Playwriting Lab and Film North’s Socially Conscious and Diverse Filmmaking Lab.
