Hey everyone,
Eversince lare 2019, I've set up my youtube channel to share my legacy of my experiences in my world with the letter C. Costuming, Cabaret, Comics, Collectibles, Cosplay, Commentaries, Cooking In Cosplay, Cosmetics. All of which I have been in for over 25years. Check out my youtube channel
My Cosplay all started from my love and passion of my collectibles & comics eversince i was little. The X-Men comics started it all, then comes the action figures as well Barbie dolls. To date, i have about 52 special/limited edition Barbie Dolls, and numerous X-men action figures & statues as well as Transformers, Justice League, Star Trek amongst others.
With my background as a live singing cabaret/burlesque entertainer, my cosplay has been influenced and perfected just as i would my stage costumes. Hence, i strive to design/create/make/custom my cosplay slightly more theatrical with bright combination colours, and/with large props to go with. Always think outside the box BUT without losing the integrity/original foundation of the character!
One of my rules for cosplay is, to always have a prop with your costume. As my most favourite DC Comics character would say 'Accessorize!', she is just IT for me. Her femme fatale ways, her wit, and her anti-hero behaviour always struck a chord with my own personality, well deep down inside anyways. Her fierce independence, and always seeking 'the perfect jewel' is almost like a metaphor for me. She is none other than, Selina Kyle aka Catwoman (the one with the 9 lives).
One of the causes that i hold very dear to my heart, will always be apart of everything that I do this year, as well. Besides looking absolutely amazing in my cosplay and performances, I use these platforms to raise the awareness of the dangers of Breast Cancer, as i have personally experienced a very painful loss. My Mummy. My life has never been the same eversince then. And i vow to always raise this awareness to everybody, to go for a check-up, go for a memogram.
I hope u will surf my page with an open mind and big heart. Simply because it is all coming from my passion and my personal talent and experience. I'm just one individual, trying to do my best to raise awareness through my cosplay & cabaret. Thank You... Darlene
