About Charley

I have taught theatre at the elementary, middle school, high school, community college and university levels. I have been a Talented Theatre teacher for the Tangipahoa Parish School System in Louisiana for over 27 years. Students have to audition to get into the program. I have students from the second grade to seniors. This is the 22nd year my high school students wii create 30 minute moves that explore social issues via comedy or drama. They develop the stories via screen treatment sessions and I write the screenplays. Thus far, we have created 63 movies and have won several modest national awards.

My stage plays have been produced for the educational, community and professional stages. I have received national, regional and state playwright awards. My screenplays have made the finals in six film festivals, three semi-finals and an honorable mention. My screenplay Out of the Ditch won Gold at a recent festival.

I have directed almost 40 plays for the stage at the professional, university and high school stage.

Besides writing for the stage and film, I have won Louisiana Press Association Awards during my 12-year journalism career.

I also have an acting IMDb page.
