A gang of superhero spiders adventure through multidimensional portals via electric breeze, weaving reality and maintaining universal balance.

SYNOPSIS:

Spiderwing is an animated adventure series. I have a lifelong curiosity and love for animals- even spiders! An organismal biology degree to boot. When a recent study proved that spiders use atmospheric electricity as well as wind to be able to fly, my story took wing. It’s Heavy Metal, Guardians of Ga’Hoole and Rango spice. Enjoy!

Many of our cultures believe in creation and deity spider medicine, which is honored in these tales. Spiderwing centers around a very special group of 6. They have a collective gift of being able to conjure and fly through sacred portals. The spiders cast a single string of silk into a brewing storm and the electromagnetic breeze strategically carries them away. Strong elements of good vs. evil as well as altruistic themes throughout… Although, to maintain the BALANCE; our heroes are sometimes forced to play both devil and angel.

Pilot-Innocence Rift-Adolescent twins, jumping spiders Indigo and Azure, compare parkour skills when a sudden storm erupts. A monstrous Scorpion Spider abducts Azure in a flash of lightning. Indigo almost saves his sister from the evil clutches, but fails, blinded by strange and brilliant lightning. Enraged and despairing, Indigo witnesses crackling zaps again. A motley crew of 4 spiders land before him. They are- the leader, an Albino Black Widow called Rainy, Luna- a giant Australian Orb Weaver, Henry- the honky tonkin Wolf Spider, and Renaldo- a Mexican Recluse. The white widow tells Indigo they must save Azure- because she and he were chosen born and have been watched and kept together since birth. Azure’s abduction was a most unfortunate unforeseen event. They travel by spiderwing to Australia to plan the attack and get Indigo as ready as possible for his first mission- grab his sister. The Dumal portal is conjured by Luna. The Spiderwings and their Orb Weaver army descend Dumal looking like swarms of starlings birthed from lightning bolts. The scorpion queen is crawling with her young who feed upon the surrounding slave and meal spiders. Azure is among them broken and weak. She is rescued from the Scorpion Horde in dimension Dumal, by her brother Indigo, right before it’s too late. They all escape, right as the scorpion wasp horde descends.

Azure recovers and is transformed with bionic spider legs. She beholds the gravity of it all. She’s always known, strangely. The twins are taken to Grandmother Spider to learn of their sacred destiny as newly realized Spiderwing.
