Virtual Obsession Art House ⋄ Thriller / Suspense A college professor teaching a course on Goethe’s “Faust” discovers that one of his students is a camgirl, and becomes (yes, you guessed it!) obsessed with her. The story plays out in an echo of “Faust,” as he discovers that she is neither the Gretchen nor Helen that he thought, but rather the devil Mephistopheles.

Watchers of the Dawn Action ⋄ Science Fiction While searching for the First Vampyre, whose minions destroyed her hometown, Aemelja Umber encounters Stephano Alchimi, an immortal alchemist. She joins him and his order, the Vigilum Aurorae (the Watchers of the Dawn), who seek to end the source of ultimate evil in the world. “WOTD” is also an allegory: of corporate America, the promises/pitfalls of science and technology, and consumer culture. The project began as a graphic novel, but would make an excellent limited series (but has promise for sequels).
