About Jeff

Writer of three television series - (pilots) - each award-winning, all with spinoffs. As a marketing and public relations pro for many years, my work includes writing and producing radio and television commercials. I've produced an award-winning historical documentary. I was the lead Co-Author & Ghostwriter for a Wall Street Journal best-selling book. I've also worked as talent in front of camera.

Jeff Mustard's work has been published nationally in print, radio, television, and the stage. He is the co-author/ghostwriter of a Wall Street Journal Best-Selling Book, A Message from Garcia: Yes, You Can Succeed, published by John Wiley. He was head writer of The Best of Wine and Food, a television series hosted by George Hamilton, syndicated nationally on the Food Network, and the writer/producer/ director of Deerfield Days, an award-winning documentary film.

The former President of the South Florida Screenwriters Guild (not WGA-related), Mustard was the Creator/Executive Producer of the Make-A-Film Competition, a successful event for emerging filmmakers produced in conjunction with Independent Feature Project (IFP)/Miami and IFP/Los Angeles. Early in his career, he performed as a stand-up comic and appeared in television commercials, an HBO Comedy Special, Richard Jeni: Crazy from the Heat, and two made-for-cable movies, Miami Models and International Tease.

Former "Miami Vice" Co-Star, Philip Michael Thomas, saw Mustard in a theatrical stage production and contracted Mustard to perform at Mr. Thomas's North Miami Beach theater for two Edward Albee stage plays. Alamo Rent-A-Car hired Mustard to write, produce and direct a Corporate Theater stage play for the organization in Las Vegas. Mustard spent ten days in Las Vegas, casting Alamo employees who Mustard then coached and directed four show performances for company-wide employees.

Mustard's radio production company, Hysterical Comedy Services, provided comedy materials — skits, sketches, fake commercials, and song parodies to three of the nation's largest radio comedy syndicators – Premiere Radio Networks, Pro-Media, and Olympia Radio Networks. The material, written and produced by Mustard, along with a room of fellow stand up comics and writers Mustard supervised, was broadcast by hundreds of radio stations to millions of listeners across the country.

A veteran advertising, marketing, and public relations professional, Mustard's work have earned various awards and recognitions, including a People's Choice Award, two Gold Addy awards, advertising awards for Healthcare Marketing, and recognition by the City of Deerfield Beach for his one-man photography exhibit. He received The Hampton Dunn Award for Electronic Media from The Florida Historical Society for producing "Deerfield Days," a one-hour documentary he wrote, produced, and directed over six months at Don King Studios in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He has also served as Spokesperson Communications Director for business people in the private sector and government gubernatorial and White House level and a United Nations member.

Unique traits: Highly creative Writer/Producer for film, radio and television. Music (lyrics) Writer/Producer. Multiple Award Winner for Various TV Pilot Scripts. Media Savvy Marketing & Public Relations Professional.

  • "BOYCOTT"

"BOYCOTT" Historical Drama In this one-hour scripted, dramatic, historical-fiction, limited series, inspired by real-life events, two immigrant women in NYC Lower East Side in 1902 take on the nation's powerful business monopoly - the Beef Trust, and win. This event not only changes their lives but the course of US history. The "Boycott" gave a voice to women at a time of oppressive patriarchy. A powerful Bechdel and Four-Quadrant friendly series, “Boycott” is the single most important female social activist story that has never been told. It is as timely and poignant today as 119 years ago.
