About Sushant

Started his career as a Costume Designer and Assistant Director and then as a Production Designer, Sushant has been in Nepali Film Industry since 2010. Experienced on a wide range of films from World Cinema art house hits such as HIGHWAY (2012); WHITE SUN (2016) to local Nepali Box Office sensations such as LOOT (2012); CHHADKE (2013), he felt the need of the producer in the country and started working as a producer, where he produced films like ‘KATHAA ’72 (The Story of ’72)’, ‘AINAA JHYAL KO PUTALI (Butterfly on the Windowpane), premiered in Busan IFF 2020 under New Current Section. He also has produced the short film ‘JUNU KO JUTTA (The Shoes of a Little Girl), which have traveled to many film festivals around the world with some wins including the Children’s Jury Mention Award in Oberhausen International Short Film Festival 2020; and ‘YET ANOTHER WINTER’ which premiered in Busan IFF 2021. His latest short film ‘WHEELS ON THE BUS’ is premiered in Berline International Film Festival 2022 under the Generation Kplus section.
Sushant is a graduate from Busan AFiS 2021 in Producing and has participated in a project development workshop of Produire au sud, Nantes 2021 along with his director Kiran Pokharel with the developing project ‘PUTALI KO SAPANA (Dream of a Butterfly)’, which also won first prize in West Meets East Screenplay Lab in Dhaka International Film Festival. He is also a member of the New Asian Producer’s Network (NAPNET) and was in the Programming Team in the Pame Film Festival 2021(Nepal). He is collaborating with a few more films in the South Asian Region from his production company Resonating Pictures.
