About Heather

With strong creative skills, I take a hands-on collaborative role in the script and story development on the projects I produce. More often than not, I will choose those projects which are almost always based on optioned literary property. I am drawn to material that speaks to a mature female audience about themselves, whether in a historical or contemporary context.

I also act as an executive producer for other producers, constructing complex financing deals across a range of projects while working with both government and private investors. The challenge in the entertainment industry is to devise financing plans that recognize the need to attract the private sector while maintaining a reasonable recoupment position for soft money. All the while juggling the demands of the marketplace and keeping your audience firmly in your sights.

Over the last few years I have extended my mentoring role as a lecturer and professional trainer for the Australian Film Television and Radio School, Sydney Film School and Tisch School of Arts at New York University.

Unique traits: I am highly skilled in development, financing and train mentors and mentees. I have a 35 year history working in the screen industry and have achieved a Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
