About Martin

Martin then spent 15 years in the camera department as a 1st and 2nd AC (Assistant Cameraman), learning his trade on films like Judge Dredd, Harry Potter, James Bond: Goldeneye and The Muppets, including a year working in Australia and two feature films in Tunisia, as a training ground before becoming an award winning director in his own right.

Martin wrote & directed his first three feature films Death (2012) starring Paul Freeman (Raiders of The Lost Ark) and legendary British actor Leslie Phillips, The Search for Simon, (2013) and The Gatehouse, a gothic fantasy, released by Lionsgate (2017).

His fourth feature film the sci-fi post-apocalyptic Atomic Apocalypse (Fka Black Flowers) had its world premier at the Sitges International Film festival in 2018. It has been released in North American and further territories throughout 2020/21. These 4 movies have won or been nominated for 45 awards including numerous Best Director, Best Film and Best Actor awards.

Both Martin’s 5th feature film Darkheart Manor and The Search for Simon Director’s Cut will be released internationally in 2021.

Martin’s latest award winning short film A Midwinter Night’s Dream (2019) was part of the inaugural ARRI Media, Director’s UK Trinity Challenge to write and direct a short film all shot in one take, no cut’s, no edits and no cheats! It has gone on to win several awards and played at festivals round the world including Fright Fest (London), GenCon and DragonCon (USA) and CameraImage (Poland).

His TV work includes Doctor Who (BBC) and Versailles (as a Mentee Director) as well as Doctors (BBC) and Hollyoaks (C4) and Spooks Interactive, which won a BAFTA and was nominated for an EMMY. A feature length live music film This Happened starring Claudia Brucken as well as several BBC Pilots and many shows as a camera operator/assistant including East Enders, Robot Wars & Big Brother.

Martin has a master’s degree in screenwriting from the University of the Arts (London), has written 21 feature films (one a year every year) and has worked in Hollywood as a screenwriter and a script editor.

Martin is currently in post production on his 6th Feature Argh & the Quest for the Golden Dragon Skull.

He has spent his life making films and TV and wishes to continue to do so.
