About Dawn

Dawn writes feature and episodic screenplays across genres that explore the conflict and dysfunction of humanity. Her favorite characters are strong female leads who overcome a myriad of obstacles to become the best version of themselves. Dawn believes that good stories are those that connect the audience in a way that creates ongoing thought and discussion of their own experiences. Her background includes 25-years in healthcare, 9 years owning a restaurant/bar, and a retail antique store for 12 years. She has served as a council member and chair of the Hillsboro, Oregon Arts & Culture Council and vice-chair of the Hillsboro Arts & Culture Endowment and volunteered for many community events and organizations, currently serving as board secretary for the Women In Film, Portland Chapter. Born in a suburb of Los Angeles, California, and growing up in Oregon, Dawn currently lives at the edge of the forest in Portland, Oregon with her husband and chihuahua where she writes full-time, and experiences life through travel, hiking, knitting, yoga, and surrounding herself with good people.
