About Anthony

Filmmaker Anthony Short searches for beauty in underappreciated parts of life while championing outcast characters who struggle with the absence of opportunities. Short has had a long and labored career in the film industry, having served in many different roles throughout the entire production process since 2002. His debut feature film as a Producer / Director was in 2017 for The Man Who Loves to hurt Himself that won Best Picture at Moments Festival Malaga, Spain, and was nominated for Best Director at Lift Off - Los Angeles along with multiple festival selections and other nominations. In 2020 his short film Son of Sun premiered as an Official Selection for the Academy Award shorts program at the Nashville Film Festival.
