After discovering the truth of her once beloved brother’s heinous war crimes, Edith must decide whether to remain silent or denounce her brother and jeopardise the stability in her family.

SYNOPSIS:

Set against the ruinous landscape of a devastated nation in post-war Germany, a young German woman struggles to support her family and live a life with any remanence of happiness. Her dearly beloved brother missing in the cataclysmic fallout of the war and oppressed by the everyday strife of living in a defeated nation, she dreams of a sweeter and brighter life where she can freely practise her passion for painting. Little does she know she will find this escapism in the company of a British Army lawyer. This with the eventual return of her brother deceives her into believing blissful contentment has finally been reached, but a dark secret will inevitably decimate this elation and force Edith to decide where her loyalties lie- with her family or with her future.
